All scientific articles submitted to the editorial board the journal of "Emergency Surgery named after I.I.Dzhanelidze" are subject to mandatory review.
The editor-in-chief, deputy editor-in-chief and executive secretary of the journal determine the compliance of the article with the profile of the journal, the design requirements and send it for review to a specialist, Doctor of sciences, who has the scientific specialization closest to the topic of the article.
Reviewers are notified that the manuscripts sent to them are the private property of the authors and contain information that is not subject to disclosure. Reviewers are not allowed to make copies of articles, and the review is conducted confidentially.
The review period is determined by the executive secretary of the journal.
The review should indicate: a) whether the content of the article corresponds to its title; b) to what extent the article corresponds to modern achievements in the field of science under consideration; c) what is the form of presentation of the material, whether it corresponds to the content; d) whether it is advisable to publish the reviewed work; e) what are the main advantages and disadvantages of the article.
The review is conducted anonymously. The author of the article is given the opportunity to familiarize himself with the text of the review. Violation of anonymity is possible only in the case of a reviewer's statement about plagiarism or falsification of the material presented in the article.
If the review contains recommendations for correcting and finalizing the article, the executive secretary of the journal sends the text of the review to the author with a proposal to take into account the recommendations when preparing a new version of the article or to refute them with reasoned arguments. The article revised by the author is re-sent for review.
If the reviewer did not recommend the article for publication, the editorial board may send the article for revision, taking into account the comments made, as well as send it to another reviewer. The text of the negative review is sent to the author. The final decision on the publication of the article is made by the editorial board of the journal and is recorded in the minutes of the editorial board meeting.
After the decision of the editorial board of the journal to allow the article to be published, the executive secretary of the journal informs the author about this and indicates the date of publication. The text of the review is sent to the author.
The original reviews are kept in the editorial board of the journal for 5 years.
